Ecology and biogeography are dynamic disciplines. In this sense, researchers are continually incorporating new approaches and improvements, such as biological and environmental big data sources, specific computer software and methodological updates.
In MAPAS Lab, we also rely on these new advances for answering our research questions, so we try to act as both users and developers. Thus, at the lab we aim to contribute to the development of methodological and software updates (through new R scripts, functions, and packages), as well as to the dissemination of our outputs into published literature and open-source data repositories. This promotes transparency and reproducibility in science, which helps to create collaborations and scientific advancement.
