Throughout the month of February, around sixty female researchers from the University of Vigo gave more than half a hundred talks and workshops of their work and of the role of women in science and technology to schools throughout Galicia. These activities were part of the International Day of Women and Girl on Science, commemorated every 11 February over the world, to give visibility of women scientists.

This year, our team visited two infant education schools in NigrĂ¡n and Pontevedra. A total of 130 children learn about the work we develop at Mapas Lab, painting fossils and decorating a mural of live evolution at Earth. The activities were supported by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit of the Universidade de Vigo.
